Remixes: Chris Barratt, DKS & digital:punks
Bringing this classic tune bang up to date we have remixes from Chris Barratt, DKS and new boys Digital Punks all of which are of the Tech House, Techno and Minimal variety – Check it out!
The first remix comes from Chris Barratt and what a remix it is (if we do say so ourselves). Chris Barratt has had the pleasure of remixing some of the industries top producers including remixes for Adam K & Soha’s hit ‘Twilight’ and the massive hit ‘555’ by Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. This remix is typical of Chris Barratt, the tune starts with some really cool percussion and a throbbing bassline. All brought together with a delayed synth melody line that gives the track a cool new dimension. It’s all about the groove in this track and we dare you to stand still when you listen to it at high volumes…. It’s nigh on impossible!!! A must for the box.
Next up on this package we have Spin Out artist DKS. In 2008 DKS had his debut single ‘Lick My Synth’ out on Spin Out and it received massive support from James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli amongst others. The track also ranked high on the download charts with it reaching No.1 on Beatsdigital and top ten spots in all the usual places. His remix takes this track in a totally new direction and can only be described as a cheeky little roller…. Swinging percussion and the bouncy bassline give us the meat of the tune and the extremely creative use of the original parts combine to great effect, and it just keeps rolling – perfect for those bouncier dancefloors.
The final remix on this package comes from new boys Digital Punks. This is their first release on any label and we’re pleased to be able to introduce them to you here. Their DJing has seen them play at many great venues in London including the legendary Turnmills, Ministry of Sound, The Cross (still wiping away tears!), EGG and The White House. Their remix takes this track in a different direction to the others, the track has a great techno edge and a bassline to blow the speakers. With a throbbing stab rhythm and a big breakdown this track is oozing energy all the way… Peak time material.
