029 – Richard Dinsdale ‘Rival Times EP’

Future, The Zulu Dancer, As The Record Spins

The man is back with a vengeance!!! Richard Dinsdale has been working on all sorts of projects in the past 18 months with a new album with friend Michael Grey, his own artist Album ‘U-Turn’ and of course DJing around the globe. And he continues on good form for Spin Out delivering this his Rival Times EP which is an incredible collection of throbbing tech house tracks. Richard Dinsdale is no stranger to Spin Out with his singles ‘She Wants Me’ and ‘Blitzkrieg’, and his remix of Shafunkers ‘Man Woman Club’…and now with this new EP we’ll continue together on the path to dancefloor destruction!

The first track on the EP is called ‘Future’. It has that notably Dinsdale sound with its bass heavy roots, glitchy percussion and when it properly kicks in it is gonna give your speakers a good work out. The bass is very driving and this track has a real ‘heads down’ feel where you’ll just want to get into your groove and rave. A mechanical synth stab rhythm comes in over the top to give the track another dimension and the effected vocal ‘Future’ blends in and out of the track for a bit of variety. The track leads on to one long breakdown with reverbs and delays expanding superbly before dropping you right back to the grittiness… Nice!

Next up on the EP is ‘The Zulu Dancer’, the rolling percussion and glitches combine well with the ‘dancer’ vocal and bongo bass to give the whole track that proper tribal feeling and it really gets you moving and pumping to the rhythmn. Already tested on dancefloors around the globe by Dinsdale himself, the crowds love it and with good reason…. just put it on, turn it up and enjoy the next 6 minutes of your life without reserve.

Finally we have the third track of the EP titled ‘As The Record Spins’. This offbeat percussive wobbler is again unmistakeably Dinsdale with its hefty bass/kick. This track cleverly throws you off beat at any opportunity and will cheekily catch you out when the bass comes back in. Another driving groove here with cool percussive work outs and rhythms, a deep bass and later a minimal style bleep melody… a great way to round out a fully diverse package from Spin Out proving that Richard Dinsdale is one of the finest house producers around!!
