With a Love for dance music from an early age DJing was a natural progression for both Ben Coates & Mike Chapman. Having met at an early age it wasn’t until their mid-teens that they discovered they shared a passion for house music.
Being too young to hit the clubs but desperate to party and share their love for house music with others they started running their own nights for their friends. Seeing a couple of hundred people dancing to the music they were playing was it all it took for them to be hooked. When they were old enough to experience what a real club night was like it made them determined to become a part of it.
After a long summer of partying and meeting like minded people in the scene they began to discover their sound and started distributing mix CD’s to promoters and industry folk which led to their first gigs in the Capital, one of which was at the world famous Ministry of Sound, which led to further gigs across London and an invite to become Spinout residents.
Currently you can catch them anywhere from London to Ibiza with DJ dates at venues such as The Egg and Ministry of Sound, as well as running their own ‘pausE’ parties. They even find time to present the Spin Out Records radio show along with fellow residents, Glenn Wallace & Drew Harding; ‘The Weekend Recovery’ aired live on tuff.ssradiouk.com every second Monday evening from 8 – 10p.m and also available to download via the podcast.
