Paolo Mojo always shines through as one of the industry’s truly great DJ / Producers. He cleverly incorporates a plethora of genres including house, funk, techno, breaks, electro, disco and acid. His style is revered by the DJ superstars.
His DJ calling card is his way of switching between the styles. “I could stick to one genre” Paolo explains. “I want to enjoy what I hear as much as the crowd, so I need to keep myself entertained. Plus a lot of DJs get stuck in the rut on playing a sound that works and before they know it, they’ve been left behind. You’ve always got to keep seeking out those edgy records, push yourself and take risks with your music.” This is what keeps him ahead of the game.
He broke through in 2001 with his double CD mix ‘Music is Freedom’ which became something of an underground phenomenon and highlights since include winning Muzik Magazine’s Bedroom Bedlam Award and winning the Rapture TV’s Homelands Contest. He moved on to be the man behind Renaissance label’s ‘Renaissance Digital 01’ mix which became the first DJ mix released exclusively on iTunes.
Today he plays all round the world from London to Singapore, Taiwan to Tel Aviv. He has toured Asia for DJ Magazine with Tom ‘Superchumbo’ Stephan and has begun a monthly residency at Inertia in Ireland, taking on mammoth 6 hour sets which have earned him a huge and loyal following. The sky’s the limit for this mega talented man!
