Spin Out Records reach their 35^th release with “Ahh”/”Ace Clear”, two techy rollers from Dirty Deal aka Marc Deal & Tobias Schmidt, otherwise known as one of the producers and the vocal contributor of Moonbootica.

Having cropped up on Hell’s International DJ Gigolo’s “CD Ten” compilation, the duo’s original music with the addition of a remix from Gluteus Maximus, who has also just remixed for Poker Flat and Kompakt…making his remixes sought after material right now. The whole package is a force to be reckoned with!

‘Ahh’ kicks the ep off and fuses house and techno as effectively as the producers themselves fuse old outboard synths with modern NI plugins. House chords sit atop undulating, dare we say funky, bass while all manner of heavily effected percussion bombard the arrangement wonderfully.

Gluteus Maximus’ remix is an altogether deeper affair, with simple 808 drums providing a bedrock to warm, sampled keys which instantly create a rich, understated vibe. Punctuated by the titular vocal sample and the odd distorted kettle drum or percussive lick, this remix is beautiful listen.

‘Ace Clear’ completes the package and brings it back to an undiluted, almost brutal perspective where saw tooth synth stabs tear through the bass heavy mix with zealous abandon. Abrasive peak time dancefloor action was the mission and it’s a huge success.

An almost nihilistic attitude to genre classification combined with a firm dancefloor focus means this act certainly deserve your attention, and are testament to the fact that Spin Out continue to progress as a forward thinking imprint.
