Hello peoples, we know all of you have your finger on the musical pulse so you probably know all about Spotify and how epically awesome it is. Seriously tho, this is the future of the music industry.

So whilst we’re in the process of hooking up all of the Spin Out catalogue on Spotify…in the meantime we have set up a Spin Out Playlist which we have added some of our favorite tracks to. And if you link through to it you can add your favorite tracks too…so you can hear what we like, we can hear what you like and we can all like each other a little bit more. 7 degrees of separation people, live it! So we have had a fair few bits of birthday celebrations over the past month…but you know us, we’re not content stopping at just a month’s worth of celebrations. We like to stretch it out as long as humanly possible, squeezing every last little bit of fun out of it before we collapse in a heap of celebratory exhaustion. Some say we ought to learn where to stop but we think thats a load of poppycock.

And on that note, we present to you our latest in birthday fare, a very special compilation filled to the brim with what we think are some damn good presents, all wrapped up in a tidy little package.

Set to drop on the 30th of November, Spin Cycle V2 is the second in a series of digital compilations through the label. We’ve cherry picked some of the best of all 5 years releases, including some true classics like the first ever track on the label which still has a great currency with today’s sound. And we’re chucking in some damn good exclusives too from the likes of Adam Shaw, Dirty Deal, Chris Barratt, Caninesounds, and Drew Harding & Glenn Wallace. We’ve also included some DJ Tools to hype up your sets.

And because no present is quite the same without the big red bow, we’re also including a DJ mix of all the tracks in one, a twisting turning winding journey through the compilation as mixed by resident Drew Harding.

Well, after the success of our January party at the Horse & Groom, its clear you lot haven’t made any resolutions not to party in 2010! So lets keep the momentum going with yet another installment at London’s favorite Plub, The Horse & Groom on the 20th of Feb! Valentine’s will be water under the bridge by then, and whether you’ve spent it with with your beloved or you’re still looking for ‘the one’…get the drinks in, and mingle with our crowd! Who knows, you might get lucky! It won’t be the first time we’ve been responsible for a hook up or two. xx

We have had a bumper year this year with our bi-monthly parties at the Horse and Groom and Ministry as well as trips to Ibiza, and we’ve released a swathe of ass-shaking house music, with Adam Shaw’s Seshing currently riding high in the charts. In 2010 we’re set to hit the 40 release mark – WOW! This month our resident DJs are joined by hot-shot duo Maime, not to be missed.

Dropout’s story began in early 2008, bringing together three East Londoners on a path from Stoke Newington to the heart of Shoreditch and a monthly shindig heavy on quality and light on attitude, with house and techno laid down by Craig Torrance, Louche residents Josh Tweek and Brinzley Kazak, Disassociates, Tom Real and Landed’s Nathan Kyle.

New kids on the block This Is Not A Rave return to the Horse for their monthly work out session. Tear-ups at the Egg, 333, The Star of Bethnal Green and other East End institutions have earned them a fierce reputation. They’ve had the likes of Trevor Loveys, Lee Mortimer, Idiotproof, and most recently KiD COLA and Genuine Guy, over to spin some fat beats. This time it’s all about the the men behind the headliners.

After a year of bringing the finest guests to the venue, it’s the residents that rule the roost this month, with Spin Out Records taking over downstairs and Dropout and TINAR up top, bringing you the finest house, electro and techiness from 8-4 with a host of surprises and giveaways in store to celebrate the last Saturday before Christmas. Unwrap yourselves and head down for eight hours of festive shenanigans.

Backed with remixes from OFF Recordings main man Andre Crom as well as the relatively new talent of Drew Harding & Glen Wallace, ‘Seshing’ is a no-nonsense, dancefloor package.

Shaw, an artist who gets stronger with every release, has delivered a peak time, warm tech-houser with a relentless groove in ‘Seshing’. A stripped and simple drum track is combined with vocal effects and a double hit of filtered synth chord to create the perfect slice of modern tech house.

Crom shows exactly why his OFF Recordings imprint has been winning many a fan with a bouncing slice of swinging house typical of the label’s output. Punctuated with heavily clipped drum fills and an unforgettable bassline which offsets some serious organ work, his remix is one of the finest to be commissioned at Spin Out.

Finally, as with all Spin Out releases, the new blood of Drew Harding and Glen Wallace flex their production muscles with a heavy, heads down slice of techno. Tight and rolling, it’s a superb way to round off the package and super-charges ‘Seshing’ without losing any of it’s warmth or depth.

So…five years! Five WHOLE years, and a few days actually… And without going into the whole ‘how quickly time flies’ and ‘oh how much fun its been’ and ‘we can hardly believe it ourselves’ jargon, we’re doing this post because we have some funny memories and messages from our friends…and you the people might find them entertaining.

Ok well no need to stop press cus’ its already out, but its important enough to shout it from the rooftops…pick up the November issue of i-DJ mag now and get a little present from us! Yes, we know its our birthday, so technically we should be getting the presents, but we’re lovely like that.

Adam Shaw Compiled & Mixed the disc, and its got some real classics on there! It’s a heavy mix of Spin Out favorites and a few other labels and artists we’ve worked closely with over the years, featuring artists such as DJ Hal, Switch, Reuben Keeney, Richard Dinsdale and more… And to top it off, Adam’s put his spin (geddit) on all of the tracks so this is truly an exclusive you can only get on i-DJ!
